RTD notice deadline

RTD must receive a written notice of claim within 182 days of when the injury happened. Include what happened, the date, time and place, your injury, the amount you ask for and your name and address. This rule comes from C.R.S. § 24-10-109(1).

Time limit for filing a lawsuit

The lawsuit must be filed within 2 years, once RTD denies your claim or 90 days go by. That time limit is set by C.R.S. § 13-80-102(1)(h).

Filing a claim with RTD

RTD's online claim form is one way to file. The other is registered mail or certified mail with return receipt requested, sent to Regional Transportation District, General Counsel Department, BLK-23, 1660 Blake Street, Denver, CO 80202. The count starts on the mailing date when certified mail is used. Official page.
