LA Metro notice deadline

LA Metro must receive your written claim for damages within 6 months after the accident happened. This rule comes from Cal. Gov. Code § 911.2(a).

Time limit for filing a lawsuit

A written rejection from Metro starts the clock: you have 6 months, counted from that letter, to sue. No written answer at all means you get 2 years, counted from the accident date. That time limit is set by Cal. Gov. Code § 945.6(a).
