Metrolink notice deadline
You must get a written damages claim to the Southern California Regional Rail Authority within 6 months after the accident; that agency operates Metrolink. This rule comes from Cal. Gov. Code § 911.2(a).
Time limit for filing a lawsuit
When a claim gets rejected in writing, the 6 months you have to sue starts from that letter. When no written answer ever arrives, you get 2 years counted from the accident. That time limit is set by Cal. Gov. Code § 945.6(a).
